Good Monday morning to you,
Did you enjoy a blissful chilled out weekend, or was yours more the fun and crazy variety? Mine was a mixture of both with a wedding, dinner with the family and a then girly day on Sunday. I certainly crammed a lot in but it was totally fab. Things are going to be pretty hectic these next few weeks too as we are entering the final preparation stages for the June 24th Wedding I have been planning. This means I won’t be blogging quite as much as I will be focusing on making sure all the plans are in order, but I do still have a few wonderful weddings, engagement shoots and wedding ideas to share, there just wont be as many posts.
Fear not however, as once the wedding is done and dusted I will be back to my usual blogging schedule and I have so many exciting ideas I am just bursting to share. I have set myself a goal for July to complete a lot of the projects I have been wanting to do for ages but have struggled to find the time for, so will let you in on what they are very soon.

For now it’s on with the weddings…….and today I have another fab one to share by the lovely and talented photographer Komal of Powell Pictures.
I have previously featured Komal’s work on the blog, including engagement session in a cosy vintage home as well as the warm-up session captured entirely on the iPhone. Her work is really fab so I am so pleased I get to share more of it with you.
Marc and Elisabeth’s beautiful lakeside wedding took place in Lafayette, Southern Louisiana. It was a small intimate affair with only 30 guests and held in the most stunning setting which included large trees, Spanish Moss, buildings from the 1870s and live peacocks roaming the grounds!
Komal said : “I was so honored to be a part of their very intimate wedding weekend of only their closest friends and family. The couples love for one another and for their family and friends was always present and permeated the whole weekends events.
This Portland couple picked a stunning location for their destination wedding on Jefferson Island, Louisiana at the Rip Van Winkle Gardens. The weather and all the details were just perfect. The grounds are such a beautiful place for romance and retreat. Their ceremony was held by Lake Peigneur and under a large tree with the wind blowing its Spanish moss. The officiant and also father-of-the bride conducted a very sweet ceremony that incorporated the couples Buddhists beliefs with the Christian beliefs of their family.
The peacocks that roam the grounds inspired the detail throughout the wedding. Marc and Elisabeth entertained their Northern and Southern guests all weekend with wonderful Cajun cuisine and Cajun entertainment. It was quite amazing for me to witness the guests of this wedding melding together as one family as the sun set”.
So beautiful, I love this shot of them dancing at the end, like they are lost in their own little world together.

I was fortunate enough to attend the event and it was indeed beautiful as you described. Louisiana at that time was an idyllic setting for an afternoon wedding. Thank you for sharing the work of this talented photographer.
