Hello my lovely Pocketful of Dreams readers, and how are you today?
I am so incredibly pleased to be sharing a wedding today that was photographed by the amazing Anneli Marinovich, a South African now living in London, who I first discovered many, many months ago and have literally been dying to get her work on the blog to show you how fab she is.
This wedding is no exception, it just oozes style. Amy and Tim had their wedding reception at the contemporary chic The Deck at The National Theatre , with it’s riverside deck setting and incredible views across the London skyline, a most perfect location for this stylish couple.
Anneli told me “Amy & Tim’s wedding was always going to be a very informal, fun, celebration. With the ceremony taking place at St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square, the rest of the day was planned to be as informal as possible, with a lovely stroll to the venue included in the itinerary! Amy looked absolutely gorgeous in her Pascal dress by Stephanie Allin and Tim made a very dashing groom in his Scottish kilt. After the ceremony all 75 guests, along with Amy & Tim, made their way to Trafalgar Square, where we did the group photos – a brilliant setting for group photos and the spray from the fountains kept us refreshed in the summer sun! Big thanks to Tim’s ushers & best man who did a cracking job clearing some space for us amongst the millions of tourists! We then started the walk from Trafalgar Square down to the river. The reception was taking place at The Deck at The National Theatre on South Bank and Amy & Tim were very excited about the walk which took us across Hungerford Bridge in crocodile formation! I have to say – this is the most fun I’ve ever had on the way to a wedding reception and we got some great photos of Amy, Tim and their guests, walking through the streets of London to the sound of car horns and people passing by congratulating the happy couple.
The Deck made a fantastic wedding reception venue, overlooking the Thames with St Pauls, the Oxo Tower and The Gherkin in the distance. Sipping champagne in the sunshine all afternoon, followed by a barbeque is definitely my idea of a fantastic wedding reception!
Amy & Tim, thank you for inviting us to share this very special, sunny wedding day with you. I wish you lots of love, adventure and giggles for your life together!
Wow those views are just amazing, I do love a City wedding don’t you? Congratulations to Amy and Tim on such a beautiful day and make sure to check out the Anneli Marinovich website for more info.

I know so gorgeous isn’t it? x
I love seeing “proper” London weddings, great pictures.
Our wedding has a similar walk involved (but we’re going from South to North over the Milennium bridge) glad to see that no guests got lost and it looks so much fun it’s made me very excited for ours now! I’d love to know if there was anything Amy and Tim did to make sure everyone went the right way/didn’t complain about the walking, not everyone is as enthusiastic about ours and I want to get everyone “on board” !
Hi Kate,
Thanks for dropping by, it does look like so much fun, I will ask the photographer if she has any insight to share about the walk and let you know asap xx
Wow! Beautiful…and I love the stroll idea. We need to start this trend in the States!
A very cool wedding, and as always loving Anneli’s work
Hi Kate,
Amy & Tim relied on Tim’s ushers to keep everyone on the right track and going the right way! As far as I know no guests complained about the walk as it wasn’t too long, plus they all seemed to enjoy having a group photo taken on the bridge, so maybe use that as an idea to get everyone onboard – “fun photo opps” on the way? A few guests did stop off on the pub along the way, but the majority walked with Amy & Tim straight to The Deck and received a glass of bubbly upon arrival, so everyone looked happy!
Thanks for the reply Anneli, good reassurance that it’s not a ridiculous plan to walk between venues, will use for ammunition against grumbling MiL!
Such a stylish and unique dress – love the dark underlay! And LOVE the Millennium Bridge shot!! So Fun!
