Hello boys and girls,
It’s DIY Wednesday and this week I’m keeping with my glittery and sparkly gold theme to bring you a roundup of delicious DIY ideas to try out at home.
Gold mason jars: See here for a really simple tutorial on 100 Layer cake
I love this confetti art, really simple but so effective, would look fab adorning the walls of a more urban-chic style of wedding venue. Or even just an idea to try out at home. Tutorial here via Mint Love Social Club.
These gilded bottles are pure genius, perfect for adding a little elegant chic to a more rustic wedding style. They are made using gold foil candy wrappers, available from craft stores. Here’s the how to on A Subtle Revelry.
I’m sure we all remember Carrie’s giant flower from Sex and The City, it did have a certain bridal charm about it didn’t it? I think it would make a wonderful wrist corsage or pin, maybe even a door hanging or something to hang over the back of your chairs. Whatever you choose for it, this lovely oversized flower will look just divine in an all white and gold scheme. Tutorial by The Gluten Free Honeybee.
More wall art, and this time we’re going chevron. I’m a big fan of chevron and have seen it popping up all over the place on all manner of wedding decor pieces, from table runners, to plates. Again a simple but incredibly effective way to add a dash of colour to an otherwise blank canvas space. DIY Chevron Canvas Tutorial by Make Under My Life.
You can always rely on Martha to come up trumps in the crafting stakes. Here we have two ideas for incorporating that gilden effect into your wedding decor. The first are these rather special golden vessel centrepieces with silver effect numbers and gilded candle votives. And the second a golden guest book table using gold-leaf effect candy wrappers, placed inside glass hurricane lamps. Both via Martha Stewart.
Finally add a little bit of bling with these decorative gold leaf bowls, made from paper mache. Tutorial via The Happy Home Blog.
So that’s my round-up of favourite golden DIY ideas for adding a little chic-sparkle to your wedding day decor. Do you have any other gilded craft ideas to share? Are you attempting any DIY projects yourself. Do tell us on the comments box below.
