Hello lovelies,
And how are you doing on this rather wet and windy Friday? No doubt looking forward to more festivities tomorrow night. So what is everyone up to?
I am having a mini New Years Eve Eve party tonight. We decided (The we being my Mum, step-sister, cousin and two girlfriends) that New Years Eve is so difficult for many reasons: getting everyone together in the same place, the extortionate and inflated prices of everything from food to taxis and the high expectations / low enjoyment levels that are generally experienced on this night. So instead of battling against it all we came up with the genius idea of getting together for a girlie night the evening prior, it is a Friday after all, and I cannot wait for our evening to begin. We’re heading to a wonderful Italian restaurant, a new discovery with such friendly staff and a rather brilliant party atmosphere, followed by drinks at a local wine bar. It will be an absolute scream with so much laughter that I just know my sides will be hurting the next day, I am of course still celebrating NYE, I’ll be doing so at two house parties.
Whatever you do I hope you have fun.
For now I am leaving you with a round-up of real weddings from 2011, there’s been some absolute beauties, if you want to see ALL the real weddings that have featured on the blog just click here. Or you can use the menu at the top, you will find Real Weddings under the Love Stories category.
- A classically elegant vintage affair…. The very first wedding to appear on Pocketful of Dreams and to this day I adore how elegantly refined the day was, simple and beautiful.
- A Jonas Peterson Backyard Wedding ~ Mikey and Felicity Of course a Jonas Peterson wedding has to make it into any round-up really. If you haven’t heard of this man, let me introduce you to a legend of the wedding photography world, he is based in Australia but travels all over the world. This wedding was his two best friends getting married in their backyard. Another brilliant example of how simplicity, love and friendship is all you need to make a day beautiful.
- A colourful cross-cultural real wedding I adore the fusion of two cultures in this two-part wedding Part 1, Part 2
- A Paper Dress for a London Themed Real Wedding A bride who made her own dress, out of PAPER, yep that’s right peeps, Paper. This is one creative soiree, see Part 1 and Part 2.
- Bicycle + Coffee + DIY = LOVE ~ A Real Wedding A wedding so full of love and joy I had to split it across three posts. You have a bike ride, a stop-off at a coffee shop as well as a gorgeous ceremony and reception. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
- A Lovely British Summertime Wedding Tipi tents and bunting, pimms and lawn games. This was a quintessentially British affair held on a beautiful summers day. Part 1 and Part 2
- A Vintage but Modern London Wedding A fusion of epic vintage styling in a contemporary design museum setting Part 1 and Part 2.
- A creative, quirky and artistic DIY wedding: Tamara and Aaron These guys are so cool it hurts. Their wedding was one of the most creative I have ever seen, largely down the the fact that Aaron is a designer and created bespoke illustrative paper goods found adorning tables and walls throughout their reception. The proposal story is pretty awesome too. Pre-Wed Photoshoot, Wedding Part 1, Part 2
- Yellow Birdcage Meets Pink Bow Tie ~ A Creative DIY Wedding The Bride looked dazzling in her yellow birdcage veil and pretty red lips, the groom looked dapper in his pink bow-tie and navy suit. Together they created a DIY affair to-die-for, full of exceptional and quirky little details, one of the most unique weddings I’ve ever seen. Part 1, Part 2
- A Pretty Marie Antoinette Inspired Wedding ~ Jay & Catriona One of the prettiest weddings I have ever featured with both stunning bride and bridesmaids, rocking the topknot bun. Part 1 and Part 2
- A colourful, fun-filled DIY wedding ~ Gregory and Elonah They may well just be the most beautiful couple on the planet, their wedding was pretty awesome too full of DIY touches and the best Part 1 and Part 2
- A Dreamy Destination Wedding in Mexico ~ Aileen and Alex This will make you want to head to the beach right away
- A contemporary London Wedding at The Deck ~ Amy & Tim Complete with stroll from church to venue for all their guests.
- A DIY Summer Garden Party Wedding with a Handmade Dress The brides mum made the brides beautiful ruffley dress as well as her gorgeous and colourful bridesmaids dresses
