Wild Folk: A boho woodland wedding in Gloucestershire

// THE BRIEF

To create an inclusive and laidback day full of love and fun. A celebration that felt rustic, relaxed and bohemian whilst retaining a sense of occasion.

// THE WORK

We designed a celebration that focused on feasting and merriment building to a fun party atmosphere in the evening. With creative and stylish touches to celebrate the couples love of adventure, middle-eastern travel and the groom’s Russian-Ukraine heritage.

The bespoke stationery suite, designed in-house, set the tone with a unique Ukrainian folk motif. This was then used across the printed elements such as the order-of-service, signage and even the confetti cones for design continuity. Complemented by chalkboard signage to signpost the various zones across the sprawling countryside setting.

The ceremony took place in a magical woodland setting with the ancient trees and ferns as backdrop. To compliment the natural setting, frayed calico bunting delineated the pathway to the ceremony spot with the entrance marked by a series of shimmering stars floating up a tree trunk.  A little whimsical touch was adde to this space in the form of a bamboo heart structure adorned with flowers and feathers.

Guests moved to the ‘cocktail-garden’, a beautiful setting for them to kick back and enjoy the summer sunshine. Laid out with boho rugs, cushions and moroccan lanterns to encourage lounging, guests enjoyed a custom-cocktail of infused vodka served from coloured boho glassware whilst listening to heartfelt speeches from the bridal party.

Guests were welcomed to the tipi-tent reception by a unique and interactive installation of stacked crates and boho curiosities: a vodka-tasting-station that doubled up as the table plan. Within the tent it was all about creating that magical feasting ambience so the tipi structure was accentuated with soft hanging foliage, whilst a showpiece pendant was created with a lasercut folk design to sit overhead.  The tables were dressed with mismatched vintage crockery, coloured glassware and an eclectic selection of wild florals. A grazing table took pride of place on the dancefloor presenting an array of colourful and mouth-watering food to tuck into.

The party flowed throughout the evening with various acts playing the tipi stage whilst the woodland space was transformed for the after-party: with rugs and cushions, festoon lights and paper bag lanterns it was the perfect setting to party until dawn.
