Modern Love

A Contemporary Barn Wedding, Thyme, Southrop, Cotswolds

This modern-minded couple sought support from Cotswolds Wedding Planner  Pocketful of Dreams to create the vision of their dreams for their Cotswolds wedding. Both in the midst of setting up their own lifestyle enterprises they had a strong appreciation for thoughtful design and creativity yet they lacked the time to dedicate to their day.

We worked with them to devise a contemporary, unique and artful day, taking their blank-canvas venue of Thyme at Southrop in the Cotswolds and transforming it into a space that felt 100% representative of their own style sensibilities.

Design touches included a letter-pressed stationery suite with branded monogram, neon lighting as a nod to their modernistic lifestyle and various origami influences subtly weaved throughout the day.

A strong colour palette was chosen for a modern feel, and wow-factor installations such as an edison lighting canopy installation alongside a showpiece hanging paper creation ensured the reception space looked spectacular, really making the space their own.

An eclectic mix of  furniture was chosen, including 1950’s design classics such as the Eames DSW, as well as more modern tolix styles.  Bespoke linens were commissioned from contemporary textile designer Annabel Perrin to complement the design, including table runners and napkins.

We worked with florist Georgia Westwood at Westwood Design for the florals, who met the brief perfectly with her pared-back, organic and minimalist floral creations with a nordic influence. The showpiece being the pampas-hedging leading to the Ancient Church, inspired by the meadow-garden at Kate Moss‘s wedding at the very same Church. The hedging offered a cool and unexpected aesthetic perfectly in line with the couple’s vision.  This look was then replicated at the reception as a backdrop to the top table.

Geometric ceramic pottery was sourced by our team, as the perfect vessels for the clean and modernist arrangements. Rachael had a very clear vision for her long-stemmed and draping bouquet which looked incredible against her bespoke Valentine Avoh gown with delicate feather detailing.

The Pocketful of Dreams team sourced and managed a dream team of suppliers to bring their vision to life, overseeing the onsite build and ensuring the seamless flow of their cool and contemporary wedding weekend.
