A Black-Tie Wilderness Reserve Wedding, in Suffolk

An elegant marquee wedding weekend, blending British countryside charm with timeless elegance

The Brief
Set within 8,000 acres of wild Suffolk countryside, this three-day wedding at Wilderness Reserve captured the essence of understated luxury. For Cleo and James — a New York couple known for their effortless entertaining — the brief was simple: a weekend that felt like home – yet elevated, not too fussy or overly formal. A celebration that unfolded slowly, gathering friends and family around exquisite tables, with ambient music and abundant candlelight in true black-tie style.

The Setting
The Georgian elegance of Sibton House became our muse. Inspired by its chinoiserie wallpaper, we curated a design that fused autumnal depth with natural restraint, refined, warm, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Every element reflected the spirit of quiet luxury that defines Pocketful of Dreams: layered textures, soft candlelight, and details that felt both intentional and effortless.

The Celebration
Festivities opened with an intimate barbecue in the Walled Garden. Inspired by Kinfolk suppers, the focus was on simplicity, intimacy and really tasty food to celebrate the best of Suffolk’s seasonal produce.

The next day, the ceremony was held in a nearby church, dressed in abundant florals, followed by dinner beneath a Sperry Tent transformed by Swallows and Damsons into a botanical sanctuary. Deep blue linens, wooden chairs, and hundreds of flickering candles set the stage for an evening of warmth and connection.

Settings were beautifully laid with bespoke chargers, elegant glassware and handwritten menus and place cards by NYC calligraphy artist Emily Snyder.

Our bride wore a bespoke gown by edgy NYC label Houghton NYC for a classic silhouette with modern touches and Manolo Blahnik pumps. Whilst the groom looked dapper in his bespoke black-tie tuxedo.  Cleo enlisted the support of hair and make-up artists to the stars: S J Wai and Snowden Hill to help her create her classically understated look.

As night fell, the Soul Orchestra band brought guests to their feet while cocktails flowed and laughter echoed across the estate. The night ended in the candlelit cellar of Sibton House, reimagined as a private nightclub, with a superstar DJ spinning the tunes into the early hours. A fitting finale to a weekend defined by artistry, emotion, and timeless celebration.
