Indian-Russian Fusion Wedding at Wilderness

A refined three-day destination wedding in the British countryside, where two cultures came together in effortless harmony.

The Brief
Alya and Anton, a New York-based couple with Indian and Russian roots, wanted a weekend that celebrated both their cultures in equal measure. Their vision was a joyful, design-led cultural wedding with a contemporary twist, set within the wild beauty of the Suffolk countryside. Over three unforgettable days, guests gathered from around the world to honour love, family, and connection in true Pocketful of Dreams style.

The Setting
Set amidst the rolling landscape of Wilderness Reserve, this private country estate provided the perfect backdrop for an elegant fusion celebration. The festivities unfolded across the estate’s restored barns and sweeping parkland with the addition of several marquee structures, and a design scheme that balanced natural sophistication and vibrant Indian colour. Each event space was styled to feel warm, inviting, and grounded in its surroundings, where heritage met modern British refinement.

The Celebration
The wedding day began with an unforgettable Baraat procession beneath a moody summer sky. Anton made his grand entrance on horseback, surrounded by dhol drummers and guests dancing joyfully to the beat.

Under a beautiful chuppah, the ceremony wove together meaningful touches from both cultures — readings in French, Russian, and Sanskrit, the Jaimala garland exchange, and the Saptapadi, or seven steps, symbolising their vows.

After the ceremony, a lively drinks reception brought everyone together to toast the newlyweds. As twilight fell, guests gathered beneath a huge Sperry tent transformed into an elegant dining space filled with candlelight, seasonal florals, and rich textures. Dinner flowed into dancing as the night sky turned star-studded, with music, laughter, and the unmistakable energy of celebration.

Guests were invited to embrace the vibrancy of Indian fashion, with PFOD mood boards guiding the colour palette and dress code. The result was a dazzling display of lehengas, sherwanis, and sarees that mirrored the spirit of the day: bold, elegant, and joyfully expressive.

Under the stars, surrounded by family and friends, Alya and Anton danced into married life, closing their weekend with an atmosphere of pure joy and connection.
