The Role

Due to a busy season ahead we are looking to expand our team with a talented and enthusiastic individual who can help us grow as we shape the future of the business.

We are looking for an event assistant to work closely with founder Michelle Kelly, supporting her in overseeing client’s events throughout the 2019-2020 events calendar.

The role will involve a range of tasks from assisting with event logistics, to researching suppliers and venues, through to updating client documentation and maintaining regular communications.

The ultimate goal is to be a key member of the team who will help Pocketful of Dreams deliver a world-class and memorable experience to every one of their clients and the wider supply teams they commission.

Duties to include:

  • Assisting in event logistics
  • Researching suppliers, event solutions and venues
  • Requesting quotations from suppliers and venues
  • Keeping client files organised and up to date
  • Attending client meetings and taking notes
  • Helping to maintain prompt communications with clients and vendors
  • Supporting with some in-house marketing tasks such as: Blogging, social media scheduling, pinterest, PR features, styled photoshoots etc
  • Basic book keeping
  • Assisting at client events from set up through to de-rig

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • A degree in event management is desirable otherwise the ability to show you have invested in some form of wedding or events qualification (UKAWP, Academy of Wedding Planners, Absolute Perfection)
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Advanced knowledge of word, powerpoint, adobe, excel, google
  • Knowledge of wordpress, InDesign, Photoshop etc would be advantageous
  • Friendly and professional manner
  • Works well to tight deadlines
  • Able to use initiative
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Calm even when under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to multitask and adapt quickly to a variety of situations
  • An interest in design and the wedding / events industry
  • Honesty and integrity is a must

Suited to

Those that have begun to train in events or weddings but no immediate plans to launch a business. There is an opportunity to progress to organising your own events at Pocketful of Dreams.

We are unable to accept anyone that has already launched a wedding planning business due to the conflict of interest.

Applicants will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Hours of work / Pay

We would ideally like someone who can commit to at least 16-20 x hours per week and also be available at all client events confirmed for the events season.

The pay will be dependent on the experience of the candidate and will be discussed if shortlisted. Circa £20,000 p.a. pro rata on a freelance / self-employed basis.

Can be located anywhere / work from home, however we would like candidates who are able to join us on occasion for working days in our office base in Lancashire.
