An Indian-British Fusion Wedding at Heckfield Place

An Indian-British fusion wedding at Heckfield Place, where heritage, design and emotion came together beneath the midsummer sun.

The Brief
Set within the storied grounds of Heckfield Place in Hampshire, this Indian-British fusion wedding unfolded across a weekend rich in colour, culture, and connection.

Our couple, an Indian bride and British groom now based in New York, dreamed of a midsummer celebration that felt relaxed yet refined,  a weekend rooted in nature, steeped in heritage, and alive with the quiet luxury that defines Heckfield’s spirit.

They wanted to honour both backgrounds through thoughtful design and joyful energy, blending Indian tradition with contemporary British style to create an experience that felt deeply personal and emotionally resonant.

The Setting
Heckfield Place, with its wildflower meadows and Georgian grandeur, became the perfect canvas for the celebration.

The day began in jubilant rhythm with a traditional Baraat procession, dhol drummers, dancing guests, and the groom arriving on horseback to a crescendo of cheers. As the music softened, the tone shifted into a moment of stillness and reverence. The couple exchanged vows on a hand-illustrated riser inspired by the surrounding landscape, framed by wild meadow florals that mirrored the palette of the estate itself.

Every element was chosen to feel organic to the place: from the paper parasols that shaded guests in the midsummer sun to the wild, painterly florals that told the story of summer in full bloom.

The Celebration
As the sun lingered on the horizon, guests gathered on the Italian Terrace for cocktails crafted with Heckfield’s own garden infusions and house-made syrups — a sensory pause that embodied effortless British elegance.

Dinner followed in a bespoke sailcloth marquee draped in sunflower-yellow fabric, bold, joyful, and alive with the energy of midsummer. Patterned linens in soft pinks and lemons layered the tables, paired with delicate glassware and whimsical florals by Swallows & Damsons. The design struck the perfect balance between exuberance and ease, celebrating life and love in equal measure.

Later, guests discovered a final surprise. Deep within the Assembly Rooms, we reimagined the space as The Gramercy Rooms, a glamorous, copper-clad nightclub that paid homage to the couple’s New York story. With mirrored surfaces, immersive lighting, and DJ Asad on the decks, it became the heartbeat of the night.
