Ruby Wedding Gala Dinner at Heckfield Place
An Unforgettable Night of Love, Legacy, and Celebration
The Brief
For the grand finale of a weekend of celebrations for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary, our clients envisioned an evening that celebrated four decades of marriage in spectacular style, a night that felt opulent yet heartfelt, filled with surprises and sentiment.
The design brief: Parisian jazz club meets modern English glamour, with deep ruby tones, luxurious textures, and an atmosphere of pure celebration.
The Celebration
As the sun set, guests were serenaded by a string ensemble before sitting down to an exquisite dinner.
The Lexington Allstars filled the room with rhythm and soul, carrying guests seamlessly from dinner to dancing.
Held in the Assembly Rooms at Heckfield Place, the space was transformed into a candlelit dining hall alive with warmth and energy.
Velvet draping, cascades of crimson florals by Paula Rooney, and glowing candlelight set an indulgent, romantic tone.
Personal Touches
To honour the couple’s wedding year, we created Club 84, a playful pop-up bar infused with 1980s nostalgia. Neon signage, witty coasters, and reimagined retro cocktails, from Harvey Wallbangers to Amaretto Sours, gave guests a joyful space to unwind between courses and return to late into the night.
Then, the surprise moment of the evening, a show-stopping performance by Heather Small of M People, the couple’s all-time favourite artist, whose voice brought the room to its feet. The energy was electric: laughter, dancing, and tears of joy filled the night.
It was a true crescendo — the perfect finale to a weekend that celebrated not just forty years of marriage, but a lifetime of love, friendship, and family.
