A Wildflower Wedding, Lime Wood Hotel, New Forest
A nature-filled Summer wedding celebration in the heart of Hampshire
The Brief
Our couple envisioned a relaxed yet refined Country House summer celebration that felt deeply connected to nature, a wedding that blended elegant hospitality with the effortless charm of an English garden party. Their wish was for the day to feel unhurried and joyful, with thoughtful touches that allowed guests to truly sink into the magic of the setting.
Over two days at Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest, Hampshire, we curated a celebration that moved seamlessly from intimate to exuberant: beginning with a candlelit rehearsal dinner in the hotel’s Scullery, and culminating in a night of wild dancing under the stars. Every detail was considered, yet never contrived, the kind of beauty that feels as though it has always belonged.
The Setting
Nestled in the New Forest, Lime Wood Hotel is one of Hampshire’s most enchanting hideaways, a country house retreat where old-world charm meets laid-back luxury.
The property’s rolling lawns, ancient oak trees and walled gardens provided an idyllic backdrop for an outdoor ceremony that felt both sacred and free-spirited.
The entire estate was taken over exclusively for two days, allowing guests to truly escape into the rhythm of the weekend. The morning light filtered through the trees as preparations unfolded across the house; a sense of calm anticipation hung in the air.
The Celebration
The ceremony took place beneath Limewood’s ancient oak tree, transformed by Tattie Rose Studio into a spectacular wildflower meadow. It felt almost as though the gardens themselves were in full bloom for the occasion, abundant, textured and alive.
Following the vows, guests gathered on the terrace for cocktails and canapés before moving into a wedding breakfast prepared by Chef Luke Holder, celebrating local, seasonal flavours at their finest. As the sun dipped below the trees, guests were led outside for a surprise violin performance by Lettice Rowbotham, setting the tone for a spirited transition from dinner to dancing.
The newlyweds opened the evening with a champagne tower beneath the night sky, while ALR Music kept the dancefloor alight well into the early hours beneath a canopy of twinkling lights in the hotel’s bar.
Every moment flowed effortlessly, from the laughter shared over long tables and the surprise notes of violin drifting through the gardens, to the barefoot dancing and late-night revelry that carried the celebration deep into the night.
