(According to the experts 🤷‍♀️) Typically running from Thanksgiving in November through to February, with Valentines Day marking the end of this newly engaged flurry. As a wedding planner who has been in this industry for the last 13 years it’s definitely a cycle we see play out each year, with an increase in enquiries during this time, especially Feb/March when our inbox starts groaning with new enquiries. Our top tips if you’re newly engaged: ✨ Firstly congratulations - take a moment, take a breath and take it all in. ✨ Secondly - talk it out. Sit down with your OH and really zone in on what you want your wedding to be about. Before you start getting into the nitty gritty of it all. Dream big and let your imagination flow. ✨ Lastly - Get your ducks in a row. Map out a plan, starting with venues and your preferred dates (focus on a season rather than a specific peak weekend for optimum choice. OR if you’re hoping to work with a wedding planner enlist their services before anything or anyone else, they will save you so much time and make it a much more stress-free experience guiding you to the very best solutions from the outset. “If you wanted the moon I’d tie a little lasso and pull it down for you” It’s Valentines week! Come on hands up how many of you are believers? Do you go all out with the celebrations or scramble around last minute to find a witty card and leave it at that? Tell us below….are you a YES or NO to Valentines. I’m in the latter camp and have never been one for over-the-top Valentines gestures (because who wants to confine romance to one day?) but nothing wrong if you’re a hearts and flowers - I want it all, kinda Valentiner. What I am a big believer in though is LOVE. The purest, sweetest love stories that are galvanised during those everyday moments. The bits in between the big stuff, the funny little anecdotes, the coming together during life’s trials and the mistakes made. And at the end of it all, knowing you are by each others side through everything. Stronger together as a team. This has got to be one of the most beautiful and heartfelt speeches I’ve heard over many years as a planner - and yes I cry at every one. Also so pleased our Groom listened me when I kept telling him to take those bloody sunglasses off for his speech and allowed his emotion to be witnessed by all. A beautiful moment to treasure.
